Emmanuel (Jesus Emmanuel Arturo Acha Martinez, born April 16, 1955, in Mexico City) is a Mexican singer who debuted in the 1970s.

He is the son of the Argentinian-born bullfighter Raúl Acha, "Rovira", who appeared numerous times in the Plaza de Acho in Lima, Peru. Emmanuel grew up in Chosica, a town about an hour from Lima, and attended Chosica's most prestigious boarding school, the Colegio Santa Rosa, of the Augustinian priests. His mother was Spanish singer Conchita Martínez.

Emmanuel's songs are usually ballads, which became popular during the 1980s. His fourth and most successful album to date, Intimamente (Intimately), was written by the famous Spaniard ballad composer Manuel Alejandro in collaboration with Ana Magdalena. It was released in 1980 and had the following seven hit songs:

His follow-up albums also enjoyed success with memorable love songs. His Ibero-American number one single "La Chica de Humo" ("The Smoke Girl"), a New jack swing song which became one of the biggest hits throughout 1989, it also became a number one single on the U.S Hot Latin Tracks in the same year. The theme was included on the 1989 album Quisiera. The music video for the song had a constant rotation on the Mexican, Uruguayan and Argentinian music channels and became an eighties classic song in Ibero-America. In 2011, Emmanuel received the Billboard Latin Music Lifetime Achievement Award. Ten years later, he was presented with the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also been presented with the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award in 1997 for his work in philanthropy.

Emmanuel continues to tour throughout Latin America backed by bands that have included musicians from the United States, most notably guitarist Dick Smith of (Earth Wind & Fire, Kenny Loggins, and Air Supply).

Kim Carnes (born July 20, 1945) is an American singer and songwriter.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she began her career as a songwriter in the 1960s, writing for other artists while performing in local clubs and working as a session background singer with the famed Waters sisters (featured in the documentary 20 Feet from Stardom).

After she signed her first publishing deal with Jimmy Bowen, she released her debut album Rest on Me in 1971. Carnes' self-titled second album primarily contained self-penned songs, including her first charting single "You're a Part of Me", which reached No. 35 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart in 1975. In the following year, Carnes released Sailin', which featured "Love Comes from Unexpected Places". The song won the American Song Festival and the award for Best Composition at the Tokyo Song Festival in 1976.

In her breakthrough year, 1980, Carnes was commissioned by Kenny Rogers to co-write the songs for his concept album Gideon (1980), and their duet "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" hit No.4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and earned the duo a Grammy Award nomination. Later that year, her cover of Smokey Robinson's "More Love", from the album Romance Dance (1980), hit No.10. The following year, Carnes released Mistaken Identity, which featured the worldwide hit, "Bette Davis Eyes". This became the best-selling single of the year in the United States, spending nine weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, going Gold, and won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Cannibal Corpse is an American death metal band formed in Buffalo, New York in 1988, now based out of Tampa, Florida. The members of Cannibal Corpse were originally inspired by thrash metal bands like Metallica, Slayer, Dark Angel, Sadus, Sodom and Kreator and other death metal bands such as Possessed, Autopsy, Morbid Angel and Death. Ông sinh tại Marseille, lớn lên ở thủ đô Paris, lúc bốn tuổi ông bắt đầu chơi nhạc và lúc mười tuổi đã ghi danh vào Nhạc viện Paris nhưng với thời gian vào năm mười bảy tuổi ông bắt đầu yêu thích nhạc jazz và nhạc phổ thông. Trong thời gian Chiến tranh thế giới lần thứ 2, ông thành lập ban nhạc khiêu vũ và bắt đầu chỉ huy dàn nhạc của riêng ông lưu diễn khắp châu Âu. Trong thập kỷ 1950, ông trở thành giám đốc âm nhạc và đi lưu diễn với ít nhất hai ca sĩ nổi tiếng người Pháp là Charles Aznavour và Maurice Chevalier.

Người ta biết đến ông nhiều nhất sau khi bản phối khí L'Amour est bleu ("Love Is Blue") (do André Popp soạn) của ông năm 1968 đứng đầu bảng xếp hạng của Hoa Kỳ. Paul Mauriat cùng dàn nhạc của ông rất được yêu thích ở Nhật Bản và Hàn Quốc.

Năm 1957, Mauriat phát hành đĩa EP (đĩa mở rộng) Paul Mauriat gồm 4 bản nhạc. Giai đoạn 1959-1964, ông thu âm một số album cùng hãng thu âm Bel-Air dưới cái tên Paul Mauriat et Son Orchestre, cũng như nhiều nghệ danh khác như Richard Audrey, Nico Papadopoulos, Eduardo Ruo, và Willy Twist để thể hiện tốt hơn tính quốc tế trong các bản thu của mình. Trong giai đoạn này, ông cũng phát hành vài bản thu cùng Les Satellites mà trong đó ông đã bố trí một cách sáng tạo hòa âm giọng người hát vào trong các album Slow Rock and Twist, (1961), A Malypense (1962) and Les Satellites Chantent Noel (1964).

Năm 1965, Mauriat thành lập dàn nhạc đại hòa tấu của mình (Le Grand Orchestra de Paul Mauriat) và phát hành hàng trăm bản thu cũng như các tuyển tập cùng hãng Philips trong 28 năm tiếp theo. Năm 1994, ông ký hợp đồng với công ty thu âm Nhật Bản Pony Canyon, ông đã thu âm lại những bản hit hay nhất cũng như viết các sáng tác mới. Năm năm 70 và 80, ông phát hành tất cả các album thể hiện lòng tôn kính cội nguồn âm nhạc của mình.
